17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Files Attempted-Murder Charges in Two Separate Adams County Shootings


Brighton, CO -- The District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing of criminal charges against Cydnee Black, 34, and Oscar Mosqueda, 21, related to two separate shootings in Adams County.  

2026CR001938 Cydnee Black:  
Cydnee Black is facing charges as a result of a shooting that occurred in Brighton on July 19, 2026, in the 1400 Block of Poppy Way. A male victim was wounded as a result of this shooting. 

Black is charged with:  

  • Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree (F2) 

  • Menacing (F5) 

  • Crime of Violence (SE) (2 Counts) 

Black’s next court appearance is on August 13, 2026, at 8:30am in Division 5.       

2026CR001940 Oscar Mosqueda:  
Oscar Mosqueda is facing charges as a result of a shooting that occurred at the 7-Eleven at Highway 2 and 72nd Avenue in Commerce City on July 19, 2026. A male victim was wounded as a result of this shooting. 

Mosqueda is charged with:  

  • Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree (F2) 

  • Motor Vehicle Theft in the Second Degree (F4) 

  • Tampering with Physical Evidence (F6) 

  • Crime of Violence (SE) (2 Counts) 

Mosqueda’s next court appearance is on August 13, 2026, at 8:30am in Division 5.       

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed offense(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
