Defendant Accused of Shooting, Injuring Police Officer and 8-Year-Old Boy; Fatally Shooting Two Other Men

Brighton, CO —The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is announcing the commencement of the First-Degree Murder trial of D’Marcus Jones-Brown, which will begin Monday, May 17, 2021. Mr. Jones-Brown is accused of fatally shooting two men as well as shooting and injuring a police officer and an 8-year-old boy on August 31, 2018.

Please note, the filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The People of the State of Colorado vs. D’Marcus Jones Brown 17th Judicial District Attorney Brian S. Mason and Chief Deputy District Attorney Tim Twining will lead the prosecution of the case.
