17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Charges Shuttle Bus Driver in Fatal Adams County Crash

Brighton, CO – The District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing of several Careless Driving Resulting in Death/Serious Bodily Injury charges against Kwame Adjei-Broni, 68, for his role in a crash that led to the death of one victim and injuries to 10 others. Adjei-Broni was driving a shuttle bus on Tower Road and E. 81st Avenue on July 12, 2025, when he collided with a pickup truck. 

Adjei-Broni is charged with: 

  • Careless Driving Resulting in Death (T1)
  • Careless Driving Resulting in SBI (T1) (6 Counts)
  • Fail to Yield Right of Way/Left Turn (TIA)

Case number 2025T012149 was filed in Adams County Court. Adjei-Broni's next court appearance is on December 8, 2025, at 8:30am in Division 6. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed offense(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
