17th Judicial District Attorney's Office Charges Brett Carlini With Multiple Counts of 1st-Degree Assault

Brighton, CO – The District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing of multiple First-Degree Assault charges against Brett Carlini, 28, related to a standoff with the Broomfield Police Department that occured at the WoodSpring Suites on Edgeview Drive in Broomfield on August 28, 2025. 

Carlini is charged with: 

  • 1st-Degree Assault -- Threaten Peace Officer With a Weapon (F3) (8 Counts)
  • 2nd-Degree Assault on a Peace Officer (F4)

Case number 2025CR000263 was filed in Broomfield County District Court. Carlini's next court apperance is on September 25, 2025, at 1:30pm. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed offense(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
